Publication will resume Jan. 9. Lehigh wrestlers swung into high gear last week with a 26-6 rout of Wilkes in a dual meet and a very impressive performance in the 1983 Mat-Town USA Tournament at Lock Haven University. The Engineers rolled up 104V2 points at Lock Haven, in a tough 13-team tourney, for second place behind only Penn State which had 1173/t. It was a gruelling test, last Saturday and Sunday, with most of the grapplers on the mat from four to six times. Only 12 of the teams figured in the scoring. Host Lock Haven entered two squads but the 'B' unit's points didn't count. Rich Santoro, of Bethlehem, LU Tourney Performances N. Dame, Navy Top Cagers Navy and Notre Dame proved too much for the Lehigh men's basketball team last week but only after the Engineers had played well against each rival. Lehigh bowed to the Midshipmen, 80-67, at Stabler Center in a contest which found the visitors leading only 26-22 until just before the halftime intermission when they broke loose on a quick 11-6 spurt. At Notre Dame last Saturday the Engineers battled the Fighting Irish all even for a half, 26- 26, before falling off the pace after the rest period. Mike Androlewicz of Turners- ville, NJ, was high-scorer in the Navy contest with 22 points. Mills stacked him up at the final buzzer, for two back points, sending the bout into overtime. Santoro, who had been in command virtually all of the first three periods, gained a 5-1 overtime advantage as neither the officials nor Mills gave him undue difficulty. Another Lehigh finalist, freshman Peter Yozzo at 142, wasn't as fortunate against another Syracuse veteran, Gary Siegel, dropping a 4-2 decision for his first loss of the season after seven victories.
