Weaver, Kilrain ^ace Lehigh Changes On LmSMetic Staff New Football Aide Chosen For LB Corps Tom Rogish, defensive coordinator of the Juniata College football team for the last five years, has accepted an appointment as linebacker coach at Lehigh. The announcement was made by Bill Leckonby, director of athletics at Lehigh, who added that Rogish would begin his duties with the start of spring practice March 29. Rogish, 31, was recommended for the post by John Whitehead, head football coach at Lehigh. He succeeds John Luckhardt who resigned to become head coach at Washington and Jefferson College. Luckhardt, who also served as defensive coordinator of the Engineers, is being succeeded in that position by veteran defensive line coach Walter Whitehead. Rogish, a native of Hesston, Pa., graduated from Bedford, Pa., High School where he earned all-state honors in football and also lettered in wrestling and baseball. He was an NAIA All-American gridiron choice in 1971 as an undergraduate at Indiana, Pa., University, a wrestling letter-winner and a dean's list student. He received a bachelor of science degree from Indiana in 1973 and a masters degree in education, health and physical education from Frostburg, Md., State College in 1981. Halftime: Lehigh, 40-17 College Wrestling TV Series May Begin During June An Army Reserve series of college wrestling telecasts, produced under the direction of former Lehigh athlete Major Dave Ritterpusch, has been tentatively scheduled to begin in June. Ken Kraft and Steve Combs will provide the audio for telecasts provided by several sources including WLVT-TV, Channel 39 of the Lehigh Valley. A dual meet between Lehigh and Penn State will launch the series. Later shows feature Iowa vs Iowa State, finals of the Sheridan Tournament at Lehigh, Iowa vs Oklahoma State, Lehigh vs Wisconsin, Northern Iowa vs Nebraska, Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State and the East-West All-Star meet which was hosted by Lehigh. There will be a special instructional clinic, narrated by Combs and featuring Lee Kemp and Mickey Stewart as demonstrators, offered with each tele- ' cast. These clinics were filmed at Stabler Center. The Public Broadcasting System is scheduled to make the shows available across the nation. Wisconsin 13 Third Places Keep Squad In Top Ten Third-place finishers Bobby Weaver and Colin Kilrain provided most of the points last weekend as Lehigh claimed its customary Top Ten position among college wrestling's elite in the NCAA tournament at Iowa State. The Engineers finished eighth nationally in a tourney so dominated by Iowa and Oklahoma powerhouses that others in the field had to set their sights on fifth place instead of any of the top four positions. Iowa took a fifth straight team title with Iowa State second, Oklahoma third and Oklahoma State fourth. After that the rest of the country was allowed to get into the act, at a respectful distance. The tournament was a personal triumph for Weaver, a junior from Easton, Pa., who established himself among the nation's top-flight 118-pounders after already holding that role in freestyle circles at 105.5 pounds where he's ranked with the best in the world. He had a super tourney which started with a 4:42 fall over Charles Ludeman of Wisconsin and a highly-controversial, bitterly- disputed overtime loss to Randy Willingham of Oklahoma State, 7-3, after a 13-13 draw.
