Matmen Await Navy, Syracuse 31 Straight For Track Squad Jumpers, Distance Runners Turn Back LaSalle, Drexel Lehigh trackmen dominated distance running and the jumping events to turn back LaSalle and Drexel in a triangular at Rauch Field House. The Engineers accumulated 71 points, against 65 for the Explorers and 53 for the Dragons, to stretch their three-year indoor winning streak through 31 meets. Come-from-behind triumphs in the mile and 880 by senior Mike Murray of Verona, N.J., and freshman John Sullivan of Scarsdale, N.Y., respectively, and Dave Thomsons's decisive victory in the two-mile highlighted the meet. Thomson, a sophomore from Dover, N.J., took the two-mile in 9:21. Murray won the mile in 4:16 and Sullivan grabbed the 880 in 2:01.7. Men's Quintet In Split After shooting an incredible 71%, at Delaware, the Lehigh men's basketball team fired 33% against Bucknell, and the results were predictable. The Engineers topped the Blue Hens, 71-60, and bowed to the Bisons, 54-44. At Newark, Del., Coach Brian Hill's forces blistered the nets at what's believed to be an all-time Lehigh high in field goal marksmanship, connecting 27 times from the floor in only 38 attempts. Charlie Blue, of East Orange, N.J., was a perfect "7for7" and Mike Power, of Doylestown, Pa., followed with another perfect night on "5 for 5." Paul Hanks, of Warminster, Pa., made seven baskets in eight tries. The team also converted 17 of 26 free throws paced by Fred Ketcho, of Wood-Ridge, N.J., who made seven of eight.
