The Stabler A and CC, located in the Saucon Fields area of the University campus, is a $3.7 million dollar milti-purpose facility designed to seat 6,000 spectators. Donald B. Stabler, Lehigh '30, major donor of funds for the building, and Mrs. Stabler were among speakers at the press preview. Stabler, a trustee, is chief executive of Stabler Companies, Inc., a group of road building companies based in Harrisburg, Pa. In his remarks he stressed that the building would be a means of "melding the University and the townsfolk closer together" through its use for community and civic purposes along with University functions. Also speaking were Richard Fritz, director of events at the Center, trustee emeritus Edward Curtis, director of athletics Bill Leckonby, basketball coach Brian Hill and Gerry Leeman, director of special sports events at Lehigh and associate wrestling coach. Frank Rabold, also a Lehigh trustee, served as master of ceremonies. The Center will be dedicated in December. Booters Hand OD First Defeat Lehigh soccermen handed Old Dominion its first loss of the season Sunday in a Parents Weekend attraction at the Saucon bowl, 3-2, in overtime. Bob Belshaw and David Joynt, both of Bethlehem, Pa., provided the Engineer goals. Belshaw scored once during regulation time and had the winner in the first extra period. Joynt tallied the other goal. Mike Robinson of Philadelphia, Pa. and Joynt each was credited with an assist. Goalie Kris Talgo, of Mamaroneck, N.Y., registered 22 saves.
