lehigh was given a great opportunity for advancement last week with the arrival of the air corps unit in richards house some two hundred new men can do a lot for lehigh morale if they want to and if the organizations on the campus give them a chance the greatest need at the moment is a feeling of unity between civil ian and army students let's take a rather minor but significant inci dent to illustrate what we mean by unity last week when the army moved into lamberton hall the soldiers ate their meals from g i metal trays many of the civilians eating at lamberton hall felt that they were being imposed upon when it was suggested that they sub stitute trays for the regular plates and stoutly refused to do so as a result we have another unnecessary barrier set up between lehigh men the aforementioned incident is a minor one but if this stupid practice continues much longer we hope it doesn't it may become one of those little disunities from which big differences grow unity necessary in last week's editorial we mentioned the importance of both civil ian and army students feeling that they are both part of the same lehigh and this week we want to emphasize this point as strongly as possible minor incidents will come and go we expect them we ex pect a certain amount of kidding back and forth between soldiers and civilians but we expect also that they will realize that both sides may be a little touchy and that kidding can be carried too far this week the brown and white is extending a invitation to any interested air corps students to join its ranks we hope to run similar invitations from other organizations in the near future who are also striving after a united lehigh joint committees to be investigated by cyanide cyanide junior honorary activi ties society is
