few years the performances of the lehigh uni versity minstrel association have been very successful and enjoyable the f-upport accorded by the undergraduates and townspeople has always been of the best and it is proposed to hold a meeting of the association to which all inter ested undergraduates are invited for the purpose of ascertaining the advisability of giving a perfor mance this fall there are several who have taken part in previous shows of this kind who are now in college and from a canvas m?.de of the freshman class there seems to be plenty of material in 1903 undergraduates who can sing dance do a specialty or who would like to take part in the performance should be present at the first meeting which will be held at the psi u house 28 market street bethlehem on monday evening at 7.15 o'clock the meeting will be short but everything relative to the show depends on monday evening's attendance re-examinations communications such as the following not only give added vim to the football players but they show that the alumni still have at heart the interests of their alma mater : editok the brown and white : dear sir : i was much interested in the report of the football game on saturday between lehigh and lafayette and i want to congratu late the team on their good show ing against the team that defeated pennsylvania in such a decisive manner the following is a clipping from the washington post in regard to the undergraduate body support ing the team of the georgetown university one of the primary objects to be obtained in a college football organization almost every coach will admit is the hearty and sincere co operation of the student body it must be no half-hearted feebly demonstrative crowd of men who back up the team's struggle for the honor of their college on tiie football field but an enthu siastic loyal crowd who cheer when their boys are losing as well as when victory comes to them this spirit has been in a measure instilled into the boys at george town and one f the men who has had much to do with the making of the team this year states that it is the presence of the good healthy spirit among the undergraduates that has lent energy and vim to the eleven men who have brought athletic honor to the college on the hill this season the same thing can be said of the lehigh undergraduate body i hope that every mother's son of them will be out to the next lafavette game and by their encouraging presence and well con ducted cheering support the team that can and will lower the colors of lafayette in the second half of the satur day's game old lehigh showed what sort of mettle the team is composed of and by conscientious support by the college men be ween now and the next game and by enthusiastic brown and editor the brown and white : the communication from mr 1901 defeats 1902 by a close score the linal game in the series for the class cup was played on the athletic grounds wednesday after coon between the juniors and the sophomores and an exciting con test it proved to be three times during the game the score was tied and it was anybody's game until the last man was out in the ninth inning for the first four innings thing looked rather dubious for the juniors sellars was pitching fine ball and receiv ing gilt-edged support and as a result not a junior succeeded in scoring while in the same number of innings the sophomores had piled up four runs then the tide began to turn encouraged by the cheering from the bleachers the juniors took a big brace and succeeded in tieing the score in the next two innings the sopho mores however hammered out two more runs in their half of the sixth and things began to grow exciting in the seventh inning sellars went up in the air and lindley took his place in the box the juniors first tied the score and then by timely stick work gained a lead of three runs the sophomores were not to be out done however and scored three runs in their half of the seventh again making the score even in the eighth inning neither side scored but in the last the juniors made two more runs and the sophomores ia led to tally harleman pitched a hard steady game and allowed only one man to walk to first sellars did excel lent work four innings then lost control the contest was intensely exciting throughout and replete with costly errors and
