it seems to the writer as though the class spirit at lehigh is at present absolutely dead this is plainly shown by the fact that all three of the classes — senior junior and sophomore — have decided at one time or another during the past month to hold a class banquet and how many banquets have been held well as you all know not one first the seniors decided to hold a banquet and after the com mittee had gone to work and made all arrangements they could not get enough men to attend so it ended by postponing it until june next the junior class decided to hold a banquet and i might state that they have not held a banquet since they were freshmen and a committee was duly appointed to make all arrangements for the same the committee it appears has done jjjllfork faithfully with the exception of selling the tickets and this it cannot do the ban quet was set for friday night of this week but the way it stands now no one seems to be going out side of the committee and the president of the class so it ap pears that 99 will not hold a ban quet this year then comes the sophomore class following in the footsteps of their ivorthy predecessors and also decid ing to hold a class banquet i can not say whether it was from the worthy example set them or not,but they might have thought it would not look right for sophomores to be more sporty than upperclass men hence they also have decided to dispense with the customary class banquet there only remains one more word to be said the poor inno cent freshmen are the only ones who are guilty of having held a banquet this year and they would not have held that one if they had been at lehigh a year or if the sophomores had permitted them to do so this communication needs no conclusion for it would simply go over the same ground that has been gone over many times the facts speak for themselves and you know what they relate to you so brace up cuba libre editors brown and white : whatever can be said of the small amount of interest taken by the present senior class in refer ence to work in the engineering societies the same will apply with double force to the members of the junior class under the present conditions it is a task for the
