Enrollment update Class of 2001 is one of strongest in recent years The Class of 200 lis academically one of the strongest classes at Lehigh in recent years, registrar Bruce Correll reported at the Sept. 15 university faculty meeting. AI is an admissions criteria, Correll said, which Lehigh has been using for eight or nine years. The Academic Index for the Class of 2001, which is a numerical figure that takes into account a student's high school class rank, high school grades and SAT score, is up five points overall from last year. As for individual colleges, the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering and Applied Science showed the greatest increase, with the AI for students in- these colleges up five points. The AI for the College of Business and Economics is up four points. Mean SAT scores are also up, with the average overall verbal SAT score being 591, and the mean math score being 633, totaling 1224, which is up 16 points from last year. Graduate enrollment figures, however, dropped from a total of 1,923 students last year to 1,836 this year.
