Elizabeth Lehman Myers was born in 1869 in Bethlehem Pa. She was the city historian for Bethlehem; she was also the historian for the Moravian Seminary and College for Women. Myers dedicated her life to the study of Moravian history, and the history of Bethlehem and surrounding areas. Her dedication resulted to the expansion of her research into Europe, from where the original Moravians came. Myers also performed many oral interviews with older men and women of her days, taking notes, and later writing papers on their recollections. Myers published many works including her book titled "The Century of Moravian Sisters" which was originally published in 1918. Myers passed away on Monday January 6, 1936 unexpectedly following an illness of only two days.
