applications for the dec 4 1952 and the april 23 1953 administra tions of the college qualifications test are now available at selective service system local boards throughout the country eligible students who in tend to attend this test on either date should apply at once to the nearest local board for an applica tion and a bulletin of information following instructions in the bulletin the student should fill out his application and mail it imme barba ticket chairman mark kauffman program chairman mark given banquet chairman art goldenberg finance chairman jim criswell planning chairman and bob linck publicity the din ner program has not yet been an nounced all gay lehigh dogs are looking forward with great anticipation to their big party of the fall season at the phi delta theta fraternity house saturday night the party is in honor of lena the phi delt great dane who will be seven years old saturday invitations have been sent out to all university canines and eight have eagerly accepted such notables as chong ju of the beta house will be there they are to arrive at the party at 7 p.m bring ' ing with them a friend on the other i end of a leash preferably the pres j ident of their own house the party will be held on the ! back porch of the house a table ' cloth will be laid out which will be ( set the feast for lena's guests at ' ! each place there will be a party j i hat a name card a bone and the ; thing closest to every collegiate ca ; nine's heart a plateful of beer topping this off will be a tremen ¦ dous three-layer birthday cake for ' lena lena will be all dressed up for the occasion with a red silk ribbon around her neck lena who is very well known on campus has lived six of her seven years at the phi j delta theta house where she is j iffectionately known as the girl an all-university dinner is in the offing for the rev george bean who recently resigned his position as lehigh chaplain to become rec tor of st mark's episcopal church richmond va sponsored by omicron delta kappa assisted by cyanide and the christian council the dinner will be held at the hotel bethlehem thursday evening oct 16 tickets will cost 4 a person and all stu dents and faculty members are in vited written invitations to the dinner have been sent to living group and activities presidents department heads arcadia members odk members and athletic team cap tains rev bean plans to leave for his new position monday oct 20 committee members in charge of the dinner plans are bill westerman general chairman pete freshman fred ells shows the way far upperclassmen by con tributing a dollar in campus chest wishing well located in the triangle near the flagpole another wishing well has been placed in front of lamb:rton hall lehigh university brown represent the business arts and engineering students respective ly arcadia approved unanimous ly the proposal of a television set for drown hall at wednes day's meeting ed dussinger 54 chairman of the drown hall house committee estimated that the set would be installed with in two weeks at the latest dussinger explained that the set to be purchased was not in stock but was expected to ar rive shortly a console model the set will have a 21 inch screen and cost about 350 plus 110 for an antenna it will be placed in drown hall's second floor lounge treasurer mai gross recom mended the purchase as way of getting rid of arcadia's excess money he also suggested that drown hall be kept open for stu dent use except during the early morning hours especially in view of the attraction of tv a review of the policies of the concessions committee will as mid-week reports were being formulated at press-time wednes day the 1952-1953 campus chest drive was well on the way to achieving its goal by the time the drive closes with the charity ball tomorrow night approximations placed the total as of wednesday at close to 3,000 in pledges and contributions this amount did not include donations from the town and faculty groups as yet not to taled the annual charity ball will climax the week's efforts with the music of the continentals an al lentown country club band sched uled to play from 9 to 12 saturday evening complimentary tickets admitting one couple are being handed out to every three dollar donor missing from this year's dance will be the shoeshining members of the faculty and administration an attraction in previous years according to statistics compiled by idc head solicitor bob schuchman 53 dormitory contri butions total 1200 dravo house leads the list with over 450 ap proximately 46 per cent of her quota dravo al lead the dorm with 69 per cent contributions the percentage is figured at three dol lars per man with approximately 40 lections accounted for the dorm's lections accounted for the dorm's pledges total 275 with contribu tions not figured in all figures are chest wins by a nose one solicitor used his head this week and also put his nose to
