picture at the organizational meeting of the class memorial gift committee in drown hall tuesday night some 50 living group repre sentatives attended the meet ing in his talk dr stuiz empha sized the competition now exist ing between state supported in stitutions and those that are pri vately endowed such as lehigh and stated that it is through alum ni support of the institution that we will be able to keep lehigh in its high ranking position and meet that competition chaplain george bean class adviser in his talk at the meeting gave several rea sons why the class of 1952 see seniors page 7 pledge collection drive nov 26 27 and 28 according to wal lace j butler arts 54 chairman of the pledge drive students who acted as solici tors for ihe chest during the regu lar drive will be in charge of col lection of pledges in their respec tive living groups at a solicitors meeting to be held in the near future the representatives will be urged to accept further contribu tions from students see chest page 7 fifty-five of lehigh's brawniest freshmen exclusive of football players will try to out-muscle a similar number of lafayette frosh this afternoon in the annual tug of war at fisher field in easton the classic struggle which in theory at least determines wheth er or not lehigh's class of 55 can ditch their dinks will take place between the halves of the frosh ootball game lehigh has won the war for the past two seasons the con test two years ago ended in a free-for-all and a fire in ihe wooden stands see tug o'war page 8 drinker men wear coals and ties but see drinker page 6 don mac bean arts 53 are the lehigh delegates on this problem representing yugoslavia at 6 platter chatter complaints of discrimination directed at arcadia's lafayette game ticket plan are unfounded when y ou consider fairness and the tremendous problems in volved said william carlisle chairman of arcadia's athletic committee some students may have to take end zone seats he said especially those accompanied by parents dates and friends however carlisle explained the committee feels that the game is primarily for students and that each student should have first chance at a good seat we don't
