brains aren't everything — either for success in college or for success in life dr wray h congdon dean of students told members of the palmerton board of trade at a recent dinner meet ing pointing out that no matter how brilliant a student may be he won'i get far if he doesn't have perseverance the speaker said i am perturbed at the ease with which some students give up the struggle and they are often stu dents with much more than aver age capacity i believe the reason is that they have had life too easy they have seldom been forced to exert themselves it is not necessarily sheer laziness — it is the lack of a well-established work habits declaring thai many of these students have had it too easy in high school or at home the lehigh dean em phasized that perserverance can win many a success that brains alone would never win other qualities listed by the speaker as important for success in college and success in life were emotional stability clean living honesty and character telling his audience that anxi eties and worries can cause emo tional disturbances which render the brightest student incapable of see congdon page 2 drinker stops double parking drinker house car owners have abolished double parking in their parking lot at the request of house presi dent don powell 21 car owners — a little more than half of all the car owners in drinker ac cording to powell —
