of the issue will be a story by p e p white en titled monarch of arcadia on the founding of arcadia society by richard harding davis the story is a result of an interview with george booth 86 who was one of the original members of the soc iety when it was merely a social club with gay banquets a characterization of the per sonnel in the alumni building behind gray walls by william gottlieb will be found on the cen ter spread other stories in the issue will be venus in october by eric weiss e e 39 and plan for education by eric weiss e e 39 and william g dukek chem 38 and the last installment of hobby hobo by frank norris c e 40 the cover will exhibit a photo graph by robert williamson bus 38 of jack hoppock i e 38 trying to study with a bad attack of spring fever high school journalists produce guest issue of brown and white frances daßos editor by frances daßos spring fever and the libertas staff once more invaded the brown and white office turning it into turmoil scattered about the office were some poor lehigh students patiently trying to explain the in tricate details of newspaper writ ing and copy-reading the officers in charge of the pro ceedings were as follows frances daßos editor in chief mary vir ginia ernst news editor and bar bara hall sports editor evelyn beishline and lois diehl wrote the editorials the reporters and their respec tive beats were as follows marie gushen alumni katherine beal activities marjorie wright drown hall marie bolza williams hall olga gergits packer hall and civil engineering bern ie c brisker packard laboratory irene bragg english and physics alyce faren wald library and coppee hall dorothy barnhart mining and military science stella zatocky chemistry robert silfies and alf red nagy sports marie hilaire wrote the l u say column lynn bartlett mary luch and elizabeth erney were copy-readers the editorial writers were lois diehl and evelyn beishline 5 students attend debate convention students injured slightly in wreck 5 divisions are planned for yearbook having knowledge theme color added to makeup the engaging of norman g rudolph a professional artist for ilustrating parts of the epitome university year book was announ ced last night by herbert m wil son jr arts 38 editor-in-chief wilson also announced that the edition would be released about may 1 and that approximately 680 copies would be sold rudolph has had a great deal of experience in this line and recently illustrated the west point year book he will do work on divider pages separating the dif ferent sections of the book there will be five divisions or ganization which includes honors and activities sports living groups administration including the faculty and officers and dif ferent scenes of the campus a definite theme will prevail throughout the year book accord ing to wilson it will be know ledge is power and the illustra tions will be in accord with this theme an example will be an old village blacksmith shop with an entrance to a modern steel plant above it this typifies the progress made in industry another inovation in the epi tome as expalined by wilson will be a blue color added to the make up in previous years only the regular black and white were used all photographing and engrav ing has been completed and the only remaining work to be done on the epitome is the organiza tion of the book and the printing choral recital to be given by acappella group in packer chapel concert will be free choral music through four centuries of development will be presented by the oberlin college x^cappella choir on apri 18 in pack er memorial chapel under the auspices of tone honorary musi cal society announced raymond k maneval bus 38 recruited from 1750 students the oberlin acappella choir counts among its members some of the most outstanding vocalists in ob erlin college and conservatory the membership of the choir this year represents 14 states japan and the district of columbia the choir was organized in the fall of 1929 by olaf c christian sen son of dr f melius christ iansen director of the famous st olaf choir since its founding this group has appeared in several rad io programs over cleveland sta tions and on nation-wide hookups from chicago sang at national conference in 1931 they sang before the musical educators national con ference in cleveland this year a twelve hundred mile tour is sched uled through ohio pennsylvania and new york last year the group made a ten day tour through five midwestern states the program will be selected from various schools of choral lit erature from palestrina to con temporary composers a soprano and a baritone soloist will render several selections tone has scheduled the concert in cooperation with the bethlehem friends of music there will be no admission lincoln crash into trees while driving on a winding campus road a car driven by george b rheinfrank jr i e 39 crashed early sunday evening into two trees located along the look-out drive according to eye-witness re ports the car skidded while going around a curve and struck two trees on the opposite side of the road the occupants of the auto mobile escaped serious injury as the left front of the car was badly damaged clifford f lincoln jr met e 40 suffered a broken nose and a severe shaking up while rhein frank was cut over his left eye and brused on his left arm and leg both of the occupants keywords of the fraternity friendship leadership and service following the dedication an out door supper was held in which the fireplace was used for the first time after the meeting at the fire place lacy met with the newly elected officers and discussed the relationship between the local and national chapters of alpha phi omega fireplace for use of scouts the fireplace is for the use of all brown and white goes to press through the efforts of the feminine journal ists of liberty high school yea verily lehigh's foremost publication has for the past few days been under the guidance and control of eager bright-eyed laughing young ladies who have very capably done a rather con fusing job the gals hail from the staff of the libertas the school magazine which is published four times a year and which won wide-spread recognition at the national press conference held a few weeks ago their presence at lehigh was very much in evidence last saturday as they thronged the campus gather ing the news freshmen's lives endangered some of the regular staff of the brown and white were summoned to impart to the fair sex the rudi ments of newspaper work six freshmen were almost killed in the stampede but the rest got through and the poor girls had lehigh riff-raff in their hair from start to finish and so if you see any slight errors in this publication which have been overlooked in the rush you can blame it on us erring males we cannot tell a lie it's all our fault but despite the flood of chums that strolled hither and thither with that oh-boy-can-i-help-you look in their eyes the
