40 they will determine and draw up a statement of their position with respect to america's foreign policy before leaving all schools in the debating as sociation of pennsylvania colleges will participate in this session which includes a banquet on fri day evening other committees will discuss the solution of the employer - labor struggle and the subject of higher education the lehigh delegates have prepared for the session by taking a course in parliamentary proce dures which will be used through out the session shearer elected to senate group will include compositions by strauss brahms and schubert concert to be friday joseph bentonelli american ly ric tenor of the metropolitan opera association will present a program of 15 selections friday night at the broughal high school auditor ium in the fifth of the current se ries of student concert-lectures benton elli will sing composi tions by schubert brahms and strauss and also several songs still in manuscript one is the ape and the lady by alice de cevee which will be presented for the first time in public this season the first song on the program is an english folk song some ri val has stolen my true love away a iseum have drawn up a lease to rent the building to a firm which intends to convert the dance hall and roller skating rink into a market place the lease will go into effect before april 22 and al phi omega will be the speaker for the occasion the fireplace is situated on the top of south mountain about 200 feet north of the little theater which is used for dramatic pre sentations during the fem-sem has nev of institution for femal brings tears lehigh the girls of moravian this week showed a negatory attitude toward the practice of lehigh men who for generations have referred to the institution across the bridge as fem-sem performing a slight case of murder on agnes fem-sem a charlie mccarthy-like creation of two moravian students they had a whale of a funeral at chapel ex ercises at high noon on wednes day agnes it seems is or was the spirit of fem-sem which took on a more satan-like aspect in the minds of the girls who objected to the term thinking that their pub lic was misquoting itself by re ferring to their chimney corner including both the college for wo men and seminary as fem-sem an important occasion it is not surprising that the fu neral took on the semblance of a weighty occasion by holding a fu neral for agnes fem-sem the girls feel that they have emphati cally expressed their desire to dis continue permanently the use of this name for their institution authentic for after the organist without doubt the ceremony was had reached the second chorus of chopin's funeral march the pro cession came down the center aisle dressed in mourning and committee of next year's session at the model senate which was held friday and saturday at col gate university hamilton n y he served on the same committee for this year five members of delta omicron theta honorary debating society represented lehigh this year heading the delegation was dan iel q marshall m e 38 who served as chairman of the foreign relations committee which passed a resolution defining america's foreign policy also serving on this committee were morris mind lin arts 38 and bernard alt shuler eng phys 40 both of these men served on the sub-committees which drafted a bill modifying present taxes on business warren ache met 40 served on the judiciary commit tee which succeeded in defating the anti-lynching legislation each delegate took the name of a member of the united states senate those impersonated by le high men were marshall senator barkley of kentucky mindlin senator guffey of pennsylvania altshuler senator bone of wash ington ache senator neeley of west virginia the delegates did not express the political convictions of the senators but advocated their own personal opinions to address clubs radio group inspects transmitter station fifteen members of the radio club made an inspection trip sat urday to the wjz transmitter at bound brook n j the club held a meeting thurs day at which it was decided to buy material for a new auxiliary transmitter which will be built for code use only an inspection will be made in the near future to the marine sta tion at new brunswick n j this station is used to handle trans atlantic communications return monday af ternoon march 26 continued on page four alpha phi omega to hold fireplace dedication alpha phi omega national boy scout fraternity will elect officers at a business meeting at 7:30 to morrow evening in the arcadia room of drown hall the society will dedicate the out-door fireplace which was re cently completed at 5:30 p m sunday william lacy national field representative of alpha phi omega will be the speaker for the occasion the fireplace is situated on the top of south mountain about 200 feet north of the little theater which is used for dramatic pre sentations during the summer ses sion sophomore competition for next year's freshman handbook business staff began thursday night when 40 second year men met in the arcadia room in drown hall to learn the system which they will use for soliciting advertisements plans for the cover of the book have not been completed and will not be considered until the finan cial status of the publication has been determined aggie fem-sem has nev of institution for femal brings tears lehigh the girls of moravian this week showed a negatory attitude toward the practice of lehigh men who for generations have referred to the institution across the bridge as fem-sem performing a slight case of murder on agnes fem-sem a charlie mccarthy-like creation of two moravian students they had a whale of a funeral at chapel ex ercises at high noon on wednes day agnes it seems is or was the spirit of fem-sem which took on a more satan-like aspect in the minds of the girls who objected to the term thinking that their pub lic was misquoting itself by re ferring to their chimney corner including both the college for wo men and seminary as fem-sem an important occasion it is not surprising that the fu neral took on the semblance of a weighty occasion by holding a fu neral for agnes fem-sem the girls feel that they have emphati cally expressed their desire to dis continue permanently the use of this name for their institution authentic for after the organist without doubt the ceremony was had reached the second chorus of chopin's funeral march the pro cession came down the center aisle dressed in mourning and carry ing agnes in a coffin aggie was placed in state on the platform and the girls got down to the business of funeralizing her the eulogy was a gem of the first water struggling with inner emotion
