rothrock discussed the rela tion between baldness and the men tal and physical attributes of the following faculty members dr robert w hall head of the de partment of biology dr stanley j thomas professor of bacteriology and james p sell assistant in bac teriology dr rothrock stated that one of the advantages of baldness was that it was one thing which a man could acquire without assistance or inter ference from his wife in spite of all her efforts to the contrary furth ermore baldness gives a distinct appearance of intelligence humorous gifts were presented to student and faculty freshman honor society wednesday to change the entrance require ments of the local chapter to en large the membership and agreed to confer with h v anderson as sociate professor of chemistry fac ulty adviser of the society prepara tory to corresponding with the na tional office i think that the plan is a very good one and i will do what i can to gain the sanction of the national society said dean mcconn the proposal to resign membership should efforts to get the approval of the head of the society prove futile was also approved by the dean in view of the restricted mem bership of the local would have 20 men the new plan of entrance re quirements unanimously approved by the society would mean that membership of the society would be always at least 20 members since the scholastic average required was reduced from 3.5 to 3.25 the policy is unconstitutional after the first semester of last year nine men were initiated into phi eta sigma but since that time no students have met the require ments of having a 3.5 average for the entire year the new requirements would per mit initiation of the top 20 ranking men in the freshman class for the first semester provided each man at tained at least a 3.25 average at the end of the second semester the freshmen at that time who rank in the upper 20 in the class with a 3.25 average and who were not ad mitted the first semester will ministration stated that although the speaker was neither an engineer nor an economist his talk was un biased and technically correct carothers introduces speaker dr carothers introduced the speaker
