20 men seek presidency in tuesday vote price — fire cento military group takes 15 men o d k makes 2 altera tions during meeting omicron delta kappa honorary senior activities society made two important changes in their entrance point system thursday at a dinner meeting held as the residence of bradley stoughton director of the curriculum in metallurgical engin eering ten juniors will be selected by the society for pledging in the near fu ture states d hoppock,l.e.'36 pres ident two juniors nelson j leon ard ch e and joseph walton met e were selected in the fall the first important change in the point system prohibits a man from having more than 75 per cent of his points from one major group the major divisions are scholarship publications athletics social lead ership forensics debating and mis cellany the second important change will give a candidate a five point bonus if he has more than one fourth of his points from three different ma jor groups murphy heads eta sigma phi tau beta pi to celebrate cyanide alpha kappa psi and interf raternity coun cil to act as guides williams to greet visitors tomorrow lehigh will be host to about 500 sub-freshmen the final arrangements for the day were completed monday at which time it was decided that alpha kappa psi honorary business fraternity cyanide honorary junior activities society and the interfraternity coun cil would cooperate in acting as guides for the guests dr wray congdon director of admissions and chairman of the sub freshman day committee urges that the students aid in the day's pro gram he also requests that the fra ternities in entertaining their guests at their houses cooperate in seeing that those guests get to the assem bly and respective department con ferences on time the sub-freshmen will register from 9 to 10:30 a m in the ad ministration building after which there will be an assembly in pack ard auditorium at which time pres ident clement c williams will wel come the visitors on behalf of the university the remainder of the morning will be taken up with de partment conferences and inspec tion of these departments luncheon to be served lunch will be served at the ar mory after which the guests will have an opportunity to inspect any of the departments desired until 2:30 p m at this time the band will lead the visitors from the flag pole to taylor field where they will be with good defenses here other nations would be hesitant before in volving this country in war election to be held upon last year's single al ternative plan polls to open at 10 a.m twenty-five men shannon which is written about james gleason is c f mc coy arts 37 mccoy who has played important parts in jour ney's eend yellow jack and the racket former productions of mustard and cheese is charac terized by a a rights instructor in english who is supervising the production as being particularly fitted for the role the plot is concerned with the inside of the show business in which two stranded actors attempt to run a suburban hotel and get into all sorts of difficulties mr shannon the hero of the piece is a hard flippant irishman whose callousness is but a covering for the underlying sentimentality the part of mrs shannon is taken by miss jeanette cleaveland who has appeared in many other mustard and cheese productions play very popular according to rights the play is one of the more populor stock bills in the theater in its new york presentation it had a run of about 32 weeks after which it was taken on the road with success its com edy is derived from situations with in the radio broadcast april 4 on the sea and the dagger dance are new songs this year the latter is taken from natoma the only na tive american opera written by victor herbert it is an arrange ment of an indian war dance made effective by the use of a constant tom-tom drum beat on the sea is one of dudley buck's best known songs for male voices the double quartet will sing two new songs chloe modern holy ones 17th century ger man canon on the sea dudley buck ; dagger dance from na toma victor herbert and al ma mater new numbers offered the club presented both the bell man and ye watchers in the radio broadcast april 4 on the sea and the dagger dance are new songs this year the latter is taken from natoma the only na tive american opera written by victor herbert it is an arrange ment of an indian war dance made effective by the use of a constant tom-tom drum beat on the sea is one of dudley buck's best known songs for male voices the double quartet will sing two new songs chloe modern ar rangement and a hit tune from ralph skedgell's prom trotters if you were the earth robert e herrick assistant alumni secre tary has made a special arrange ment of the song in the waring style his memorial chapel dr carey is a teacher at the girard music school in philadelphia although all rehearsals are open to the public not many students were present townspeople and friends of the singers
