march 31 and also announced that the lehigh valley sections of the american chemical society and the american society of civil en gineers will join with the engineers club at the meeting eastman will tuations in the development of steel corporations and makes predictions as to the status of such industries in 1940 professor bratt has based his forecast for steel on curves for the production of representing le high at various college nights at high schools tuesday dr congdon visited trenton central high school where he is conducting conferences with pupils of that school interested in lehigh wednesday the admissionse di rector left on a trip to connecticut on thursday he went to bridge port central high school on a sim ilar occasion there was a consoli dated meeting of the bassick war ren and central nigh schools of bridgeport dr congdon attended a college day at the hartford high school at hartford conn today smith and swenson attend convention of psi upsilon william m smith ch e 36 and alvin a swenson bus 37 left wednesday for rochester n v where they will attend a conven tion of the psi upsilon fraternity smith is head of the local chap ter they will return sunday after noon society will visit swarth more later in year eugene h sloane instructor in english will discuss his views on samuel butler author of the book the way of all flesh at 7:30 o'clock tonight before the robert w blake society philosophical course society in the home of frank c becker assistant professor of philosophy 321 center street after sloane's talk a business meeting will take place during understanding of the cultural and social problems of modern life than is provided for in the special ized curricula of lehigh univer sity although the organization has not yet received official recognition its petition and constitution are now in the hands of the committee on clubs permission to meet on the cam pus and the use of a room were giv en to the organization by dean c m mcconn to take leading role discusses fluctuation of industry in iron age elmer c bratt assistant profes sor of economics in forecasting the growth of the steel industry published in the march 19 issue of the liron age discusses the fluc tuations in the development of steel corporations and makes predictions as to the status of such industries in 1940 professor bratt has based his forecast for steel on curves for the production of rolled iron and steel as published in the american iron and steel institute series for various periods of years during the devel opment of steel industries he de velops
