carnegie andrew carnegie eta kappa nu pledges 5 men harold samuel to give recital sponsored by cleaver foundation tickets are 25c each harold samuel english pianist will give a piano recital of works of bach at 8 p m tuesday dec 10 in packard auditorium the recital is to be sponsored by the albert newton cleaver memorial music foundation the money being willed by the late mrs cleaver in memory of her husband a member of the board of trustees tickets for students and faculty may be obtained at the office of the lehigh union in drown hall at 25 cents each general admission is 1 mr samuel is the greatest pian ist in that type of music that the world knows says t edgar shields director of music mr sam uel has made a number of victor records which are included in the carnegie music set in drown hall mr samuel a fellow of the royal college of music studied at the col lege under dannreuther and san ford he has appeared at the prin cipal london concert halls and with leading orchestras and conductors throughout the british isles he has associated himself largely with the performance of bach's pianoforte works mr samuel at one time gave six separate weeks of recitals of bach's music in london an unprecedented effort he has composed the music for a comic opera short operettas incidental music for plays and many songs as well as instrumental works will honor educational benefactor on birthday centenary had made bequests here in honor of the birthday of the late andrew carnegie lehigh uni versity will join tomorrow with carnegie libraries and trusts to pay tribute to the great
