penn state collegian in editorial protests football players are exploited the perm state collegian in a homecoming day issue yesterday protested vigorously that football players at state are exploited the editorial published just before alumni began to return to the campus for tomorrow's game with lehigh outlined five protests 1 the athletic association pays players nothing for four hours of hard work a day 2 players unable to finance their schooling themselves are forced to hunt jobs for their room board and college fees 3 except for evening meals at football training table they are forced to shift for themselves for food 4 other colleges whose athletic policies are not so rigid draw big gates for football games 5 what started out to be a system of decency and progress in all athletics has been converted into an intolerable and unjust exploitation of athletes coaches and alumni the college abandoned scholarships to athletes in 1927 and adopt ed the plan proposed by bezdek former pre-conception types dr pearson explained the more important methods of contra ception now in use and gave reasons why the best method is 90 percent effective but he advised even then it is best to
