the brown and white lehigh university's student newspaper founded in 1894 vol 112 no 39 friday march 25 2005 all the lehigh news first intruder harasses sleeping victim by patrick fulton senior news writer a 21-year-old female student was awakened early last friday morning by an unidentified man sitting on her bed police said the incident occurred in an off-campus residence in the 200 block of east fifth street at 2:50 a.m police said the woman did not report the incident until later that day she said she didn't call the police right away because she was frightened when the woman asked the man who he was he respond ed you know me after turn ing on a light the woman real ized she did not know the man the two spoke for several min utes although the woman said litde police said the man spent most of that time attempting to convince the woman to kiss him police added she refused and asked the man to leave the house as the man walked down the stairs he said he knew the house and had lived there before he then left without incident the woman questioned the other residents of the house immediately following the con frontation none of them knew the man or saw him enter the house police said that the front door had been left unlocked and was probably the intruder's point of entry police are putting together a description of the man he is described as a 25 to 30 years-old white male with dark brown hair and dark eyes the woman reported he was well-built approximately 6 feet tall and weighs approxi mately 185 lbs the man was wearing a yel low baseball cap a dark blue sweatshirt blue dickies pants construction boots and orange sunglasses at the time of the incident he also carried a yel low backpack according to the police report the woman thinks he may have referred to himself as eric she suspects he was high on drugs police said the woman told police that the man spoke very quickly and seemed disoriented and some what agitated the incident is under inves tigation there are no suspects at this time and the female vic tim is the only known eye-wit ness there is no apparent link between friday's incident and last semester's prowler cases in which a man broke into sev eral female students off campus houses bethlehem resident frederic hernandez 34 was arrested last month and confessed to those break-ins nude photos celebrate female body b&w photo by randy rovesti garrick aden-buie 06 is shown viewing the century project photo exhibit the project by photogra pher frank cordelle intends to display the female body in its most natural form see story page 16 bishai addresses human rights by keenan pontoni assistant news editor dr linda bishai political science professor from towson university discussed interna tional human rights law in maginnes hall on monday bishai who recentiy served in a fellowship program with the federal judicial center pre sented her experience in washington d.c and explained general international law concepts to a room of about 20 students my job as a fellow was actually to provide a research project on human rights law said bishai as it turned out many of our judges aren't par ticularly well-educated in inter national law and this is becom ing more of an issue the needs to understand international law are becoming more relevant everyday bishai said international law is becoming increasingly impor tant for federal judges but many judges are not prepared globalization is impacting on law as well as politics and many judges have started to experience many sticky and thorny cases and not all of these judges have had training in international law bishai said she said one of the most challenging tasks she faced was communicating complicated ideas to elite judges the first thing i did in my project was to put in short for mat -
