the brown and white lehigh university's student newspaper founded in 1894 vol 11l no 38 friday march 26 2004 all the lehigh news first accused argues opposing side by trace fails assistant news editor for the first time since the feb 27 hospitalization of a chi omega pledge that led to the arrests of three theta delta chi brothers the students involved in the events have released their accounts of the story cheng jack wang 04 a tdk brother who is charged with one second degree and two third degree felonies testi fied to what he called a typical night on the hill that turned into a situation in which the administration used students as scapegoats first and foremost there's a side of the story that wasn't told wang wrote in a state ment there are quite a few serious problems and injustices tied with this preposterous case wang's statement revealed information previously undis closed by police sources the fact is i was the one who drove the victim to the hospital wang wrote the brother later registered a 0.0 alcohol level on a breathalyzer test administered by fountain hill police being one of the only sober people that evening i did not want to jeopardize the status of the victim wang wrote i did not want to take the risk of let ting a drunk brother transport her to the hospital what seemed to be right at the moment was to take the responsibility and end this ordeal in a non-lurid manner wang also said he was sur prised by the lack of publicity given to chi omega sorority with whom the fraternity had planned an event that night christina fenn 05 a mem ber of chi omega at the time of the party who also accompa nied the victim to st luke's hospital said she had also anticipated more exposure for the sorority when the papers came out it was all tdk fenn said i expected to see tdk and chi omega splashed everywhere but there was just the one little bit about there being an event with chi o and that the victim was not a member fenn has since resigned from the organization quitting actually had a lot to do with the whole situation fenn said i realized how much people just don't care about people they're supposed to be close to the event between theta delta chi and chi omega was for the pairing of big and little sisters within the sorority the victim a freshman had not undergone the ceremony to officially be donned a pledge at the time of the party but she did have a big within the chi omega organization the party progressed with out disturbance until the police stopped outside at 2:52 a.m wang reported that a tdk brother walking back to the house intoxicated began con versing with the officers brothers then informed fra ternity president edward cilli 06 that the police were out side according to wang cilli had not been drinking ana was in his room throughout the duration of the party wang could not confirm what cilli told police when he went out side but said that the officers continued on their routine patrol shortly after the conver sation cilli could not be reached for comment when the police were out side the victim neared uncon sciousness fenn said people didn't want to take her outside because of the cops fenn said in the mean time this girl was slipping away and nobody cared people were bringing her water and trying to get her to eat doritos but she didn't have the control to swallow them she couldn't talk she could barely open her eyes fenn said that at one point the victim became unconscious wang disagreed about the severity of the woman's condi tion the girls were freaking out about their friend who -
