the brown and white lehigh university's student newspaper founded in 1894 vol 11l no 21 friday november 21 2003 all the lehigh news first revenge photo courtesy of the epitome photo courtesy oflafa yette sports web site lehigh prepares to exact revenge on lafayette tomorrow in the 139th meeting between the archrivals after suffering a disappointing 14-7 loss last year game time is set for 12:30 p.m at goodman stadium lehigh has won 32 of its last 34 home games and six of the seven times this rivalry has been held at goodman stadium for student opinions an interview with senior jermaine pugh and a game preview see pages 8 9 11 and 20 admissions dumps b&w copies byjessischimmel pile of nov 14 issues removed from admissions lobby because of content contributing editor last friday's issue of the brown and white was removed and discarded from the visitor information desk adjoined to the admissions office allegedly because its content did not paint the university in a positive light to prospective students and parents sources within the admissions office confirmed the issue in question included two stories on the front page and one in the lifestyles section that could have been construed as con troversial the stories focused on recent arrests made in connection with off-campus robberies the pos sible link between project impact policy and an increase in student drug use and a story graphically detailing student drug use the final decision to throw out the paper was made by eric kaplan dean of admissions and financial aid a source in admis sions said kaplan offered an apology the brown and white's absence from its usual location at our front desk was apparently the result of an unfortunate miscom munication kaplan wrote in an e-mail be assured that at our next staff meeting i will reinforce the fact that the brown and white will continue to be offered to visi tors in the reception area of alumni memorial professor kathy olson teaches media ethics and law for the department of journalism and com munication she is on sabbatical this semester but offered her insight i'm always surprised when i hear about this sort of thing hap pening at other schools so it's dis appointing if it happened at lehigh olson said this kind of thing usually ends up backfiring because of how bad it makes peo ple look -
