contained too much ma terial from other schools the com mencement issue on the other hand uses a minimum of borrowed mater ial other features of the new pol icy include a different printing type and forty-four r.o.t.c students to camp at meade and aberdeen of the 73 advanced r.o.t.c stu dents 18 junior advanced ordnance students and 26 junior advanced in fantry students will spend six weeks at summer camp according to col m h thomlinson head of the department of military science and tactics the advanced ordnance students will go to aberdeen proving grounds for practical work in con nection with big guns the infan try students will spend six weeks at camp meade near baltimore a picnic for senior industrial and mechanical engineers given by the industrial and mechanical engineer ing departments was held last thursday afternoon at lehigh community park near fogelsville the chicken and waffle dinner served at 6 p m was preceded by a baseball game between the i e efficiency experts and the m e boiler makers the big feature of which was the prolonged question ing of the close decisions made by prof m c stuart acting head of the industrial and mechanical engin eering departments who officated as umpire the industrial engineers captain ed by h f casselman 32 defeated the mechanical engineers captained by c f schier 32 by a score of 20-10 at the same time this main game was in progress members of the department staffs and those who were left over from the main game played a little world series of their own the score being 33-15 in three innings when the game was called because of dinner this game was umpired by mr brown mechanician of the mechanical en gineering section of packard labor atory in the championship game be tween the seniors of the two de partments professor stuart was asked by the efficiency experts to pitch for them in the final jn ning professor stuart then showed how it should be done by pitching a shut-out inning thereby earning from both
