speed limit and stop sign violations are commonplace on campus as well as a lack of respect for the crosswalks and people in them penny king 03 sees a much larger problem with what she feels is a halfhearted attempt to stop illegal drug use on the hill they were focusing so much on alcohol that now they've realized that there's also a drug problem king said king is one of many students who believe that project impacfs focus on alcohol consumption has pushed students to use illegal drugs instead shupp however does not agree i don't buy that project impact pushed people from drinking to doing drugs shupp said but many students are not accepting shupp's statement especially after the three arrests made last week in correlation with illegal drug use and selling on campus i can't the university can't tolerate the use or selling of illegal drugs shupp said in response to the arrests although shupp was unable to part with any further information regarding the situation he disclosed that it had been an on-going investigation the e-mail sent out regarding the three arrests brought to light another issue with students on campus a lack of adequate communication between the police information forwarded to the lehigh community she said she thought the university took the time to dissemi nate information when necessary the e-mail regarding the safety report for 2000 spoke of 87 percent of all crimes on campus this left some 13 percent unaccounted for shupp said that these remaining crimes included sexual assaults assaults burglary arson and automotive vehicle theft a section
