blehigh university brown and white vol 74 — no 33 bethlehem pa friday march 1 1963 866-0331 which queen will wear the crown carol taylor jean schlegel karen humphrey marryanne longo jean duh dinner dancing planned annual mil 801 l w y w w.:.w a cocktail party for a.f.r.o.t.c cadets at phi sigma kappa fra ternity sponsored by the arnold air society will initiate the an nual military ball tomorrow night after cocktails the cadets will move to the frolics ballroom in ahentown for dinner and dancing music will be provided by may nard mckissick and his orchestra dinner will begin at 7:30 p m dancing will start an hour later the cadets and their dates will pass through the traditional re ceiving line composed of the cadet commanders and their friends attendance at the ball is re quired for the advanced cadets of both the army and the air force basic cadets from both services may attend but attendance is lim ited to those who are enrolled in the officer training program girls will wear cocktail dresses or short formals the cadets will wear the traditional evening dress of black bow tie and white shirt corsages are not permitted this is the first year that a din ner-dance is scheduled in pre vious years the military ball has only been a dance the hotel bethlehem was the site of the dance in past years glee club to join in wilson program the glee club and wilson choir will present the mozart corona tion mass at wilson college sunday under the direction of dr charles shackford head of the department of music at wilson bruce leinster 64 tenor joseph demb 63 bass and a soprano and cit3 from wilson college will sing the solos in the coronation mass under the direction of robert cutler professor and head of the department of music the glee club will perform by itself o magnum my:lriumt by jacob handl ky rie and agnus dei from the mass regina goeli by jacobu van kerle salvation belongeth to our god by paul tchesnokov a dirge for two veterans b gustav hoist and five italia mountain songs cereno tre sso relle la banda su la pin alt cima e piccia piccia and orl maruska by pedrotti and piga relli this will be the ninth visit c the glee club to wilson colleg in 10 years the wilson choir visited lehigh two weeks ago when it sang for an audence estimated at 250 per sons in packer chapel the glee club has already given four performances of the mozart coronation mass two at smith college with the smith choir and two performances with the choir of cedar crest college — one at lehigh's christmas vespers and the other at cedar crest queens compete for rose bouquet highpoint of the annual military ball will be the crowning of the queen at 10:30 tomorrow evening at the frolics ballroom in allentown carol taylor jean schlegel karen humphrey marryanne long and jean duh will compete for the annual bouquet of roses when the selection committee composed of major robert f watson u.s.a.f major henry r beganie and maynard mckissick the band leader makes the choice the five contestants will be presented by the arnold air society drill team under the command of cadet ist lt sterret r prevost 111 the dance is to be formal cocktail dresses or short formals will be in order for the girls the cadets will turn out in the traditional white shirt and black bow tie anonymous committee urges policy appraisal by charles rover silent campaign what appears to be a scholastic vigilante committee of anony mous membership is conducting a silent advertising campaign ad vocating a critical examination of university policies and values the group's sole medium of ex pression is a poster program which started suddenly two weeks ago and has become increasingly con spicuous after beginning it with a few small signs in the university cen ter the group expanded to a full outdoor display the bulletin board on the path way from the library to christ mas-saucon has blossomed with a dozen signs which gently poke or fiercely slash at the lehigh family and members of its ad ministration perhaps the tone of this move ment was expressed by the sign that read don't read these signs — lehigh is perfect the sarcasm was unmistakable other posters asked such ques tions as where do the proper channels lead and whatever happened to the u s constitu tion on this campus the campaign continued with purpose of education . . . lost at lehigh and vote now elect lehigh big brother there has been no positive identification of the group's mem bership and there has been no of ficial university reaction to the movement signs of dissent — some of the signs that have suddenly appeared on campus directing students to take heed of their state and move in the direction of ? ? ?
