regulations and how they apply to the university we shall see what way we will have to modify our stand preston parr associate dean of students told wednesday night's arcadia meet ing there is general concern in the valley on underage drinking parr explained his talk followed a report monday by interfrater nity council president g ray mond hodil 63 indicating the state liquor control board may take action on campus party drink ing conditions hodil told the brown and white last night that according to discus sions he had with parr the univer sity has denied the lcb permis sion to check campus conditions hodil told an ifc meeting mon day that the lcb may go to court to gain access to the campus to check compliance with state laws taylor and kolbe university lawyers are now studying how to proceed if the matter goes to court thomas herbert new assistant to the dean of students met indi vidually monday with presidents of every fraternity to discuss pre cautions to take to avoid future violations of state laws arcadian duncan payne 63 suggested that arcadia keep the student body informed of the uni federal water lab sought for campus location of a 2.5 million fed eral water pollution laboratory on campus is under consideration by government authorities the proposed laboratory would be one of seven to be established in the united states one of the labs is scheduled for a six-state area including pennsylvania other locationse in the six states under consideration for the labora tory include philadelphia colleges and johns hopkins university in baltimore political leaders have been com peting to have the laboratory lo cated in their home areas rep francis e walter dem pa has appealed to the white house and the department of health education and welfare to have one of the laboratories lo cated here according to other reports phia delphia mayor james h j tate and rep william i green jr have asked former hew secretary abraham ribicoff to locate the lab in the philadelphia area a spokesman for walter told a local paper last week that a unit of the lab project would be located in philadelphia but the location of the entire project is still under study he said walter's office has been working on the laboratory location for one-and-a-half years the proposed laboratory would employ 150 persons it would study water impurities and their effect on the use of water for drinking fishing industry and irrigation the entire project would study every river and stream in the united states u has interest in pennsylvania educational tv reports that the university is an active participant in the le high valley broadcast council a group of local representatives of parochial and public school and colleges in the area seeking a uhf educational tv channel were confirmed yesterday by dr glenn j christensen university vice president and provost dr john s cartwright professor f education and former superin tendent of allentown schools is chairman of the council which has already applied to the federal communications commission for a channel the proposed station would or iginate programs over the local channel and also link the area with educational programming broadcast from new york and philadelphia the pennsylvania department of education announced wednesday that the lehigh valley area would be included in a nine-station state
