club's production of the dictator a three-act farce by former lehigh man richard harding davis dec 2-3 in broughal high school allen quick technical director of the club announced yesterday the choices for the top backstage jobs as the production schedule went into high to complete mounting of the show before thanksgiving vaca tion kenneth e miller of allentown a senior advertising major at le high has designed in the style of the nineties two sets a shipboard exterior and the interior of a u.s consulate in latin america herbert trumboldt and alan w koopes m&c members who have been cast class of 53 to remove their dinks a consensus of faculty members and wives announced the chairman after witnessing the tug-of-war from the stands assures us that the pull per man by lehigh was superior and that you jost only because of numerical inferiority therefore cyanide considers the freshman project satisfactorily completed dinks are off difficulty began when mark stern president of lafayette's maroon key failed to have his frosh ready for the tug-of-war he had thought that the contest was to take place after the game he was combing the stands for volunteers when the lehigh frosh walked on the field with the rope approximately 100 lafayette men formed on one end of the rope to commence the contest seeing the inequality the men from le high poured on the field to aid the freshmen then lafayette rushed out to make the confusion com plete after sorting and weeding cya nide members brought the number of lehigh men on the rope to about 53 and asked stern if lafayette had the same number on their side he was assured that such was the case and the contest began lafayette however had about 75 men still on the rope lehigh was speedily beaten but after being declared the vic tors 1 , the lafayette men began to leave the rope not knowing of the decision the lehigh men con tinued to pull and made off with the rope during the second half the le high stands answered every lafay ette cheer with varied obscenities and finally began to rip up and burn the lafayette seats hallberg and william clayton cyanide member extinguished the fire towards the end of game the lehigh girls were housed in the dorms an all-time high and 576 people attended the idc breakfast saturday morning an other record for attendance fur ther more there was hardly any damage in the dorms the entire weekend proposed regulations con cerning fire equipment were dis tributed to all the section presi dents 1 at the meeting the new reg ulations drawn up by bob perry of drinker house provides for much quicker punishment for vio lators of the existing fire regula tions the proposed regulations will be voted on at the next meet ing in the future incoming mail for these two houses will be put
