bishop sterrett is a member of the board of trustees of lehigh university hobart college and philadelphia divinity school is american chaplain for the newco men society and a member of the executive committee of the feder al council of churches he is a member of of phi delta phi and phi phi delta fraternities probes st louis society currently conducting an exten sive research into the activities of the st louis movement in phi losophy is kurt f leidecker in structor in philosophy mr leidecker who is compiling this edition for the kentucky his torical society is working over the letters of william t harris and george e stedman to procure in formation for his forthcoming work on the society covering the years 1866-1868 the letters which mr leidecker is studying are the correspond ences bureau science academy elects whitcomb the pennsylvania academy of science elected dr lawrence whitcomb associate professor of geology it's president at the 24th annual spring meeting held at grove city college grove city dr whitcomb has been at le high since 1930 when he came here from princeton university as an instructor from 1930 to 1934 he continued as instructor in the de partment of geology and was named assistant professor in 1934 a post he held until 1939 when he was appointed to his present posi tion of associate professor it was at brown university that dr whitcomb received his m.a degree in 1928 and his doctor of philisophy degree in 1930 before coming to lehigh he taught at brown and then at princeton dr whitcomb is a member of sigma xi alpha delta phi and such learned
