a ground-breaking ceremony will be held april 7 behind rauch business center for construction on a new parking garage for the zoellner arts center william hittinger board of trustees chairman will be master of ceremonies lehigh president peter likins and dexter baker chairman of the zoel lner arts cen ter project will speak at the cer emony marsha theodoredis advance ment officer for the zoellner arts center said the 15-minute cer emony is open to everyone former governor bill casey has been invited to the ceremony because the 5 million grant to four weeks and the garage is ex pected to be complete m septem ber tony corallo assistant vice president of facilities services and campus planning said demoli tion of the garage will only affect 1 0 percent of the parking lot construction of the garage was delayed due to lack of funds and fear of harsh weather construction was originally to begin last fall and finished this spring we didn't want to start build ing the garage m the fall with them tickets for the concert went on sale yesterday at the lehigh book store the tickets are subsidized by sac and cost 10 marked down from an initial price of 18 we're hoping to sell all of the student-discounted tickets randazzo said over 700 tickets will be available for sale to lehigh students and sac is optimistic about student atten dance i think the response we've got ten is that people on campus are pretty excited lou lombardo 96 sac concert chair said it's going to be a big concert and we're sure a lot of people would go sac tried to book other well known bands for greek 1993 sac is also planning a battle of the bands picnic and barbecue for greek week/springfest lauren muney , a fire-eating whip master who entertained students last year will return april 27 to perform at the ulrich student center many students are pleased with the upcoming indigo girls perfor mance even though sac could not book other well-known bands it was a nice try but i can under stand them not being able to get the other bands jessica paul 96 said other students while happy with sac's final choice are not sure the indigo girls will be as popular with lehigh students as other bands would be sam dery 95 said i don't think we get enough bands but i'm excited the indigo girls are coming i think they might be a little mellow for lehigh by sarah zabrenski senior news editor wards the art center was approved when he was m office theodoredis said bob and vicki zoellner gov tom ridge mayor ken smith trustees donors faculty and staff from the music art and theater departments have also received invitations to the ceremony the garage will include 350 park ing spaces that will be used by faculty and staff chris christian director of trans portation and parking services said the garage will give us an addi tional 150 parking spaces when done it is being built m a lot currently with 200 spaces that will disappear for a short time period demolition of the remaining sta dium
