aids quilt which will on display through tomor row at lower grace hall the quilt which is made up of over 22,000 individual panels each measuring three-by-slx feet is an inter national memorial listing the names of those who have died of aids four hundred andelghty^lghtofthesecol orfui panels filled the stands and floor of lower grace hall each one sewn together by the friends and family of great american smokeout program activities award and is currently in competition for the national title according to paul shultz 93 president of lehigh s marketing club the program was designed to promote awareness of the great american smokeout in order to compete shultz said the club sent video vol 100 no 29 the brown and white friday february 12 1993 smoking banned in university center lehigh university after considerable debate stu dent senate voted to prohibit all smoking in the university center tuesday until now students were per mitted to smoke in designated areas of the lehigh cafe but according to jodie goodman 93 of the campus improvement committee making the u.c completely smoke-free is the best decision that could have been made the committee decided last year that smokers had a right to smoke goodman said but this privilege has been abused students were permitted to smoke in the back five booths of the cafe but this did not stop the entire area from becoming smoke-filled jordan barnett 93 senate trea surer said this is the only option idon'tsee a better solution we should ban smoking until better ventilation is put in barnett said some senate members were next week's forum meeting which will discuss campus-wide smoking policy the forum meet ing is open to all students the senate also discussed the status of pass fail faculty has sug gested upperclassmen be prohib ited from taking classes numbered 0-99 primarily freshman-level classes pass-fail hoexter said this new policy will foster the ideals of the pass-fail format the idea is to take something more challenging not a freshman level course that you're planning on cutting every time he said the senators discussed meeting with dean koski the new men's soccer coach about his
