a proposal designed to increase regulation of student housing surrounding the lehigh campus met with strong opposition at last night's community development commit tee meeting after a two-hour debate in bethlehem city hall the comm'ttee voted to send the proposal back to the town administration for further study and review if passed the proposal submitted to council by city solicitor constantine vasiliadis would increase fire regula tions in housing units which primarily cater to lehigh students as a result landlords would be forced to spend money to renovate the houses to comply to the ordinance we are not attempting to restrict or discourage this kind of housing vasiliadis said fire and safety is the focus of the ordinance and the any time you intend to attempt is to pro . . / tect the students |;
