the brown and white lehigh university rivalry tuesday february 19 1991 special edition jay hipps who scored a career-high 27 points at colgate the candy man averages 1 1 5 points per game and is the team's top free throw shooter at a 78 percent clip another junior guard steve yaniga has see engineers page 7 steals per game and junior co-captain dozie mbonu 16.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game to complement his stellar 5 8 9 shooting percentage from the field lately however lehigh has been getting contributions from other key players besides the two co-captains witness junior forward opponent the engineers are well aware of it it's a big rivalry so you can't take them lightly perm said we have to force the tempo because they aren't as deep as we are it's going to be a tough game for us added junior forward and co-captain bob krizansky no matter what the records are lehigh-lafayette is always an exciting game head coach dave duke would probably appreciate more games like the one against colgate though the engineers trailed 58 57 with 15 minutes remaining they went on a 15-4 run over the next five minutes to grab a 10-point lead the red raiders never got back into the game and at one point head coach jack bruen pulled his whole starting five in favor of the bench warmers yet krizansky and the rest of the engineers know that there's no quit in the leopards and that makes it all the more important for lehigh to establish author ity early we need to get some quick spurts dominate the boards and get out to an early lead krizansky said we're in our gym this time and our crowd should really help as it did against fordham the engineers will need the usual offen sive and defensive prowess of krizansky 16.3 points 6.7 rebounds 4.3 assists 2.4 leopards in no-lose situation lehigh lafayette meet for 173rd time by marc gesualdo brown & white sports writer when we last left stabler arena we were treated to the following sights and sounds -
