pro-choice rally continues forty-eight representatives from lehigh joined the estimated 600,000 protestors who marched in sunday's demonstration in washington o.c forty-eight members of the lehigh commun ity joined thousands of men women and children from all over the country to protest in a pro-choice march sunday in washington dc according to the philadelphia inquirer the district of columbia police estimated that 300,000 people participated in the march but the protest's organizers said the crowd num bered more than 600,000 lehigh participants left from packer avenue in front of e.w fairchild-martindale library at4:3oa.m sunday four hours later the 48 pro choice marchers arrived at the robert f kennedy memorial stadium outside the nat ion's capital and took the subway into the city nine lehigh participants were men and 39 were women one faculty member classics department chairwoman amy richlin four members of lehigh's support staff two people from the community who were not able to get seats on other buses and 41 students marched behind the banner reading lehigh students for choice more than 500 colleges and universities sent busloads of students to the protest schools
