by larry reisman in front of a boisterous engineer partisen crowd of 5,845 saturday evening at stabler center coach thad turner's grapplers bullied their way to the team's second consecutive eastern intercollegiate wrestling association eiwa team title for the fifth time in the last six years the engineers scored 155.75 points 62.25 ahead of second place navy and 72.75 ahead of third place wilkes the point margin of victory was the largest in the 76-year history of the eiwa the previous mark was set by the engineers in 1975 seven engineer matmen made their way to the finals six were crowned champions.and the seven qualified for the ncaa tournament to be held mar 13-15 at oregon state university champions steve bastianelli darryl burley jim reilly colin kilrain mike brown and drew keiser reconvene the provost search committee which joynt heads donald sawyer attempted rape reported suspect remains at large by linda pickens a university woman was the victim of an attempted rape on jan 19 according to a recently released campus police report neither the city police nor the campus police have any leads in the case spokesmen said the incident was not reported to campus police until feb 5 17 days after it oc curred the dean of students office did not release the police report until last week the woman stated that she was badly shaken by the incident and therefore did not report it according to eugene dax chief of campus police she still appeared shaken and reluctant to talk about the incident 17 days later however she agreed to cooperate in an investigation in return for anonymity she said she felt the man was not a student and appeared to be a disturbed individual serious in his intentions no leads the report was turned over by campus police to city police feb 5 and is being handled by detective mike fox and in vestigator neil lamana no leads have been found according to peter herkenham 80 of residence halls security who took the original report along with chief dax a description of the man and the vehicle are being circulated he added dax emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents to the campus police immediately to increase the chances of apprehending a suspect he urged students to wait for the bus at the sayre park gates on weekends where a security team is stationed until 1 a.m dax also mentioned the possibility of setting up an escort service to transport women studying in the libraries back to their dormitories he said he would like to use the van belonging to the lehigh university volunteers luv for this purpose the
