percent increase in contracted maintenance services building maintenance and general repairs a 3 percent increase in general and building supplies and a 2 percent increase in general expenditures travel and internal charges he said increases in faculty salary account for the other expenses involved in the tuition increase tiefenbrunn said the increase will be about an 8.57 percent increase in last year's tuition raising next year's bill to l 1,400 most undergraduates with the additional payment of room and board will pay a total of about 15,260 director of financial aid william stanford said there is financial aid budget increase for the upcoming academic year which will help cover the tuition increase he said that students who were previously on the borderline of receiving aid will now be more eligible for loans lehigh gives financial aid in one form or another to about 30 percent of its students stanford said most schools offer 37 percent of their students financial aid a few schools such as princeton university offer 42 percent he added tiefenbrunn said that lehigh has been concerned about becoming only accessible to students with affluent backgrounds adding that we would like to have more financial aid stanford said the quality of lehigh's financial aid package compares favorably with other schools but the quantity of aid to students is much lower it has been for a
