income for one year from a 1,000,000 endow ment previously each senior class would make some gift to the uni versity at graduation in later years these gifts lost their value and became insignificant the gift of the class of 1941 will amount to 35,000 in 1961 the date of ma turity the class of 1938 inaugurated the plan with a total of 90 policy holders in 1939 the number had increased to 93 and in 1940 to 95 the class of 1941 made real head way with the plan selling 136 pol icies to class members because the plan had a good foundation there was a better selling organization and a larger fels planetarium philadelphia dean tells students to study instead says no class was sponsoring meeting also blames schedule ball tickets cost 2.20 the pep rally for the hartwick game scheduled for tonight by ar cadia was cancelled yesterday by dean wray h congdon because of its lack of class sponsorship in the regular competition and because the schedule at the present time is too full when the plan was proposed by robert p whipple ch e 42 chairman of the rally committee the dean said that since rallies will be held before all other home i games it would be best to keep tonight open to study wray h congdon dean oi undergraduates the list contains the names of ali students who secured a 3 average or better out of the senior class ol 337 79 men are listed of 373 juniors 69 of 418 sophomores follows seniors juniors continued on page four lehigh will be presented with 105,000 at the twentieth reunion of the classes of 1938 to 1941 as a result of the class insurance plan first adopted in 1938 four hundred and fourteen insurance policies each valued at 250 will mature under the present plan of class gifts each graduating class will be able to give the university an amount equal to the income for one year from a 1,000,000 endow ment previously each senior class would make some gift to the uni versity at graduation in later years these gifts lost their value and became insignificant the gift of the class of 1941 will amount to 35,000 in 1961 the date of ma turity the class of 1938 inaugurated the plan with a total of 90 policy holders in 1939 the number had increased to 93 and in 1940 to 95 the class of 1941 made real head way with the plan selling 136 pol icies to class members because the plan had a good foundation there was a better selling organization and a larger committee with rep resentatives from the dormitories fraternities and town groups each policyholder pays a prem ium of 12 each year and receives the alumni bulletin free besides having his alumni dues
