meets girl mustard and cheese's first produc tion of the year saturday night in broughal high school auditorium the play sharply satirical of hol lywood and its false glitter was well supplied with humorous situ ations and belly-laughs the most animated actors on the stage were those who had the prin cipal roles in the proceedings con rad e kluger arts 42 and rich ard j berg arts 42 playing the two screwball writers around whom most of the action centers they made the most of the comedy already in samuel and bella spe wack's script robert n gusdorf bus 42 as the harassed producer of quickies was a good foil for kluger and berg moravians gift to mustard and cheese anna marie rons contri buted a good characterization of the heroine a naive studio waitress whose baby proves to be a gold mine for royal studios the hand of director albert a rights was evident throughout the play in general the cast acted at a rapid-fire staccato speed with pauses only for laughs a well-de record broken by interviews 3 fraternities entertain boys interview rate reaches normal for february highest since 29 invite 98 underprivileged to christmas parties santa claus appears by h william shawhan twenty future doctors went with high hopes to the st luke's hospi tal nursing home saturday night twenty future nurses awaited them with hopes equally high it was a blind date affair the occa sion being the first dance which the potential members of the medical profession have held together the nurses home was brightly decorated with red and green crepe paper and the floor was brightly waxed due to the efforts of a com mittee of pre-meds consisting of bernard a briody arts 41 rob ert e rowand arts 42 and irvin w gilmore arts 44 drop the broomstick the dance began at 8 15 the student nurses and doctors partici pated with strenuous endeavor in games of drop the broomstick and paul jones the continuous changing of partners served as a medium for the making of acquain tances all around this accomplish ed the stage was well set for lots of fun time out was declared at eleven oclock for sandwiches cookies and coffee prepared by the nurses re freshments over a victrola hookup furnished music for dancing until the party ended at midnight three instead of one the general consensus of opin ion was that the dance was such a success that it should be followed by another one as soon as nurse that i would find in teresting the trouble was i met three dr basil w parker instructor in biology and mrs parker ac companied the pre-meds to the dance as chaperones miss mar garet haldeman miss nanette robertson and miss florence alli son of the nurse's home also chap eroned the affair a capacity crowd of students and townspeople filled the packer memorial chapel sunday afternoon for lehigh's first christmas pro gram presented by the glee clubs of lehigh and the moravian col lege for women accompanied by the lehigh symphony orchestra the program sponsored by the combined musical clubs with the help of tone honorary musical society was under the direction f dr t edgar shields director of music mrs s p goodrich of mor avian college directed the morav ian glee club in its numbers following the prelude shep herd dance by edward german by the orchestra and the proces sional o come all ye faithful greetings were extended by dr shields in his talk dr shields ex pressed his satisfaction and appre ciation at the large audience and said that he hoped the carol ser vice wil grow into an annual tra dition at lehigh as it has at neigh boring schools he also expressed gratitude to the moravian glee club for their part in the program beardslee reads after three selections by the moravian club dr claude g beardslee head of the department of moral and religious language as sociation on december 26 27 and 28 at boston the senior class banquet has been postponed yesterday afternoon the senior banquet committee announced that because of conflicting pro grams it would be impossible to hold the senior banquet at the scheduled time as yet no other date has been set the committee originally planned to hold the ban quet in the masonic temple wed nesday evening dec 18 with ma jor emery e swede larson head football coach at the united states naval academy as the main speaker last night however in a late long-distance call to major larson the university expressed its regret that the senior class could not present him at their banquet be cause of the unavoidable circum stances it was explained to major larson that the senior class would hold their banquet in february and hoped he would be able to at tend then committee issues statement the senior class banquet has been postponed a statement from the banquet committee said be cause of the multiplicity of coming events namely social and frater nity banquets parties a basketball game quizzes and placement in terviews the committee feels that the banquet is important enough to warrant the language as sociation on december 26 27 and 28 at boston the senior class banquet has been postponed yesterday afternoon the senior banquet committee announced that because of conflicting pro grams it would be impossible to hold the senior banquet at the scheduled time as yet no other date has been set the committee originally planned to hold the ban quet in the masonic temple wed nesday evening dec 18 with ma jor emery e swede larson head football coach at the united states naval academy as the main speaker last night however in a late long-distance call to major larson the university expressed its regret that the senior class could not present him at their banquet be cause of the unavoidable circum stances it was explained to major larson that the senior class would hold their banquet in february and hoped he would be able to at tend then committee issues statement the senior class banquet has been postponed a statement from the banquet committee said be cause of the multiplicity of coming events namely social and frater nity banquets parties a basketball game quizzes and placement in terviews the committee feels that the banquet is important enough to warrant the postponement of the affair until a better attendance is possible tickets already sold the state ment continued can either be re funded or held until the banquet date in february the committee profers its apologies to all those who will suffer any inconvenience due to its postponement the committee consists of rob ert i felch i e chairman j dukes wooters bus john c att wood arts robert e malinowski held the committee immediately made plans to inform major lar son of the situation at 10 p m last night larson was finally reached at his hotel in south bend ind where he had spoken at notre dame he five and twelve were or will be entertained at christmas parties by alpha chi rho lambda chi alpha beta theta pi and sigma phi epsilon social fraternities the names of deserving boys were obtained from the bethlehem boys club the family welfare association the visiting nurse association and the salvation army alpha chi rho 500 linden street entertained about 36 young sters on friday evening games were played and prizes were awarded each boy was given a bag filled with fruit candy nuts and canned goods santa claus was played by john horn graduate of penn state in 1929 horn is an em ployee of the bethlehem steel company the boys were entertained by the bethlehem boys club hill billy band and the tricks of harry whitenight magician from allen town those arranging the program were albert
