were ap proved tentatively pending further information full approval was given lambda mv sigma local honorary market ing fraternity the organization of which allen paget bus 41 is president is open to business ma jors with b averages in marketing courses and a general scholastic average of c or better the lehigh yacht club being promoted by richard m davis 44 has been given tentative approval pending further information it will be a division of the intercol legiate yacht racing association dinghies will be sent to the spring and fall dinghy races at the massa chusetts institute of technology in the past dinghies have been sent but no organization was formed for the purpose the new group has been organized to per petuate these interests and to give students participating some stand ing with other college groups at the first meeting 14 students with yachting experience attended a badminton club has also been given tentative approval by the committee and has been organized that through the modern theatre shakespeare emerges free of ped antry and the most successful and exciting dramatist even now be for the public she tells of her di rection of maurice evans produc tions of hamlet richard ii and henry iv and of the streamlined shakespearean pro ductions at the new york world's fair she will also discuss other re cent and forthcoming productions of shakespeare such as orson welles julius caesar and the laurence olivier-vivien leigh romeo and juliet miss webster will also give a brief summary of the treatment of shakespeare in his own time down through the of the brown and white conclusively spiked rumors that one of the fraternities would be placed on disciplinary probation this closes the matter the statement said dean congdon lauded the heads of the living groups concerned for the way in which they handled the situation resulting from saturday afternoon's activities the dean's version of the affair and his comment follow on saturday afternoon de anced flight training course for the second semester are available at the mechanical engineering depart ment office the primary course consists of 35 hours of flight training and 72 hours of ground school work the university gives three hours cre dit toward graduation for m e 26 the ground school course given by the mechanical engineering depart ment the course is open only to lehigh students and seniors are preferred juniors are considered next and in rare instances a few sophomores are admitted the fees including a medical examination by a caa surgeon and insurance will probably amount to 25 but there is no charge for books the cash value of the training is ap proximately 500 the advanced course is open only to those men who have com pleted the primary course the flight training includes 40 hours of flying on heavier training planes and 126 hours of ground school work the medical and special eye examinations by a caa surgeon are more severe than for the prim ary course
