committee hofmann's appearance at le high will mark the first time that the student concert-lecture ser ies has presented one of the world's outstanding pianists and the first time that the committee has com bined forces with the cleaver memorial foundation lehigh students will have an op portunity to hear hofmann's win ter program before the noted pian ist goes on tour for 4 months in announcing the signing of hofmann kelley said that the committee has been fortunate to secure the services of one of the ranking pianists of the world only because of the cooperation of the cleaver memorial the society for prevention of the cruelty to children he returned to europe and studied under ur ban moszkowski and rubenstein hofmann later made many suc cessful concert tours in america and europe afternoon near dallas texas in a mid-air crash of two army air corps planes clinch who attend ed the university from september 1938 to last february was soloing with his instructor t j richards when he crashed into a plane pi loted by solomon d moon a fel low flying cadet at love field near dallas the planes falling after their wings had entangled and had been shorn off crashed about 125 yards apart in a plowed field clinch and richards were killed instantly and moon died a few hours later in a dallas hospital clinch who was a member of the junior varsity football team and the varsity swimming team while he was at lehigh left school last february after he had been accepted as an army flying cadet final competition in the living group singing contest will be held at 2 p m on congdon surprisingly enough considering the actors and their parts both bunthorn and grosvenor fall madly in love with the village milk-maid patience played by mrs david scott fortunately however by the end of the operetta all the compli cations have been unravelled and only bunthorne is left without a bride other major roles will be taken by howard w alexander instruc tor in mathematics as colonel caverley charles w simmons professor of chemical engineering as major murgatroyd william b todd arts 40 as the duke of dunstabe james l clifford assist ant professor of english as mr bunthorne's solicitor lady angela wil be played by helen minnich lady sophia by mrs hilton smith lady ella by mrs allison butts and lady jane by mrs charles w simmons by robert m lynch the usually dark halls of christ mas-saucon were ablaze with el ectric and dramatic lights last wednesday night as the operetta patience underwent finishing touches by members of the faculty chorus dramatic activity on the campus doubled as mustard and cheese started rehearsals of their forthcoming production of idiot's delight taking over drown hall the former happy hunting ground of the faculty the student drama tists forced the chorus to retreat to the sancuary of hyphen hall finding facilities of the sound proofed speech room on the third floor inadequate for their vocal and physical requirements the colonel the dragons and a few others not to forget patience found other rehearsal rooms which included the entire third floor cor ridor the final results of all this ac tivity will be afternoon near dallas texas in a mid-air crash of two army air corps planes clinch who attend ed the university from september 1938 to last february was soloing with his instructor t j richards when he crashed into a plane pi loted by solomon d moon a fel low flying cadet at love field near dallas the planes falling after their wings had entangled and had been shorn off crashed about 125 yards apart in a plowed field clinch and richards were killed instantly and moon died a few hours later in a dallas hospital clinch who was a member of the junior varsity football team and the varsity swimming team while he was at lehigh left school last february after he had been accepted as an army flying cadet final competition in the living group singing contest will be held at 2 p m on sub-freshman day may 4 the band will form in front of the west wing of packard labor atory and play several selections on a special platform in front of the west wing the singers will then compete dark halls of christ mas-saucon were ablaze with el ectric and dramatic lights last wednesday night as the operetta patience underwent finishing touches by members of the faculty chorus dramatic activity on the campus doubled as mustard and cheese started rehearsals of their forthcoming production of idiot's delight taking over drown hall the former happy hunting ground of the faculty the student drama tists forced the chorus to retreat to the sancuary of hyphen hall finding facilities of the sound proofed speech room on the third floor inadequate for their vocal and physical requirements the colonel the dragons and a few others not to forget patience found other rehearsal rooms which included the entire third floor cor ridor the final results of all this ac tivity will be
