play for the second time a driving rain was credited for the absence of a number of ticket holders jack lee in the part of the wait ress performed a difficult crying scene the performance ran more smoothly but less inspired acting was seen than in previous presenta tions emma shannon's scene at the close of the second act where she learns about losing their small for tune lost nothing by its repetition however david goldenberg held his audience quite breathless in this dramatic climax the old inn-keeper tottering around on his wabbly legs was quite popular with the audience fifteen men have entered the competition for news editor and sporting editor of the brown and white their names will be recom mended to the board of publications next week for approval each competitor to be eligible for competition has had to com plete several requirements which are supposed to test the initiative and dependability of the candidate these requirements consist of three hours work on files an exchange story of not less than iso words each week reading of copy one night a week and taking charge of one issue of the paper each candidate is also required to present a platform which will con tain his ideas for editorial policy and suggested reforms and a gen eral self-sale talk the two positions will be filled by the elections of the board of publi cations the executive committee of the brown and white recom mends a certain number of men to fill the new positions the board of publications then takes these rec ommendations and from these de cides upon the men they wish to choose for the positions in a recent organic chemistry quiz a new low was established proving that scholastic endeavor is also subjected to depressions a member of the junior chemical en gineering class received his quiz paper bearing a mark of 0.7 on the basis of a 100 total available points exclusive of zeros which are oc casionally handed out this mark is probably the lowest ever to have been given at
