man-sophomore banquet regula tions is foreseen in the action taken by a joint meeting of the two class cabinets wednesday to limit fu ture banquet fights to one day this is in reality a suggestion to the faculty in the face of the pres ent controversy ensuing from the past banquet this action was taken after a prolonged discussion at a special meeting called by dean c m mc conn as the result of a rumor that edgar s stem a freshman resid ing at 306 summit street had been missing since thursday this ru mor arose when stem's landlady informed the dean that stem had not returned to his room or at tended classes since the banquet festivities began the dean wor ried at such a prolonged absence hastened to adopt some means of tracing the missing student how ever early wednesday evening it was learned on authoritative infor mation that stem was ill at his home in alderson pa where he had returned of his own accord last week since the cabinet meeting was al ready called the dean asked for discussion on the cabinet's views toward banquet week he promised that some action toward revision would probably be taken at the next faculty meeting and asked for other alternatives besides complete abolition of banquet week a proposal to continue the ban quets without the traditional fight was entertained but was not ap proved by many further discus sion resulted in the proposal to hold both banquets on the thurs day following the easter vacation at previously announced places such procedure would eliminate much of the flagrant absences from classes which have been so pre valent in past man-sophomore banquet regula tions is foreseen in the action taken by a joint meeting of the two class cabinets wednesday to limit fu ture banquet fights to one day this is in reality a suggestion to the faculty in the face of the pres ent controversy ensuing from the past banquet this action was taken after a prolonged discussion at a special meeting called by dean c m mc conn as the result of a rumor that edgar s stem a freshman resid ing at 306 summit street had been missing since thursday this ru mor arose when stem's landlady informed the dean that stem had not returned to his room or at tended classes since the banquet festivities began the dean wor ried at such a prolonged absence hastened to adopt some means of tracing the missing student how ever early wednesday evening it was learned on authoritative infor mation that stem was ill at his home in alderson pa where he had returned of his own accord last week since the cabinet meeting was al ready called the dean asked for discussion on the cabinet's views toward banquet week he promised that some action toward revision would probably be taken at the next faculty meeting and asked for other alternatives besides complete abolition of banquet week a proposal to continue the ban quets without the traditional fight was entertained but was not ap proved by many further discus sion resulted in the proposal to hold both banquets on the thurs day following the easter vacation at previously announced places such procedure would eliminate much of the flagrant absences from classes which have been so pre valent in past banquet seasons dean mcconn announced that he would present this recommendation at the next meeting of the faculty when it is expected that the pro posal will be adopted or a similar plan submitted
