and marshall quintet was a fitting climax to lehigh's first winter home-coming day in a game which at one time threatened to result in a closely contested victory or even a defeat for the brown and white the lehigh basketeers emerged victorious by the overwhelming score of 49 to 25 although the lancaster ag gregation at no time held the lead their aggressive attack made them dangerous through gloomy for the brown and white as rob erts franklin and marshall cen ter registered a field goal with the period but thirty seconds gone a basket by washick from the seventeen-foot mark brought the blue and white within two points of tying the score a spectacular play by smith who after intercepting a pass dribbled the ball thru the entire opposing team and scored a field goal brought the crowd at a meeting of the arcadia held last monday evening in drown hall several important measures were considered j gordon ridsdale was elected president of the representative group and in addition several vacant places in the various committees were filled the body also issued a formal state ment protesting against the in crease in tuition that is sched uled to take effect next fall in sofar as the present classes would be affected the adopted motion reads as follows that the arcadia goes on record as petitioning the board of trustees that the one hundred dollar increase in tuition apply only to the class of 1931 and subsequent classes the arcadia's reason for pe titioning the board was that some men have budgeted their expenses for their four years in college and may be forced to drop out if the increase goes into effect it is not likely that the petition will be favorably acted upon however for the board gave the measure ample consideration before the in crease was passed in addition to this a year's notice was giv en to all students in order that they could make allowance for the increase in tuition neil sullivan was made a member of both the board of athletics and the publications committee ; herbert harmon was elected to the booster com mittee and james morrison succeeded to the vacancy in the students club committee nothing definite was decided about the arcadia
