in preparation for this game coach haring has been drilling the squad hard the past week the line-ups will probably be : lehigh positions swarthmore brewster f sproul dynan f donnelly crichton c spackman green g mcgovern ketcham g harry lacrosse practice in the cage lafayette soccer game tomorrow the first lacrosse practice in preparation for the spring season was held on wednesday afternoon in the athletic cage the practice consisted chiefly of passing the ball in order to give the men a good workout and at the same time to get the new men acquainted with the methods of handling the la crosse stick only a few reported for practice but it is expected that many more candidates will report in order to fill up the vacancies left by last year's men there are at present only five l men in college who are eligible for the team which means that there are seven positions on the team which must be filled by new men coach grimes is expected to ar rive about march 15 and up until then practice will be held in the cage every monday wednesday and friday afternoon practice will begin at 3 o'clock on wednes days and at 4 o'clock on mondays and fridays at present sexton and mayers two of last year's l men have charge of the squad mustard and cheese cast to report tomorrow afternoon on taylor field the lehigh soccer team will meet lafayette in the first game to decide the interest in athletics is attested by the presence in reading of the larg est athletic field in preparatory ranks in eastern pennsylvania which now bears his name past experience particularly fits him to deliver an address that will be of great interest in accordance with a long estab lished custom of lehigh university exercises in commemoration of the birthday of washington were held at 11 o'clock by handing lehigh a lacing by the score of 41 to 28 the final game of the university five was with carnegie tech on washing ton s birthday and the brown and white team came out victorious by a score
