rooters had enough spirit to believe otherwise and stood by their team until the very end there was no lull in the cheering and every inch gained on the field was echoed and re-echoed on the stands until it as sumed the proportions of yards threatened twice the brown and white goal was threatened only twice in the sec ond period muhlenberg with re markable strength rushed the ball down the field to lehigh's 20-yard line but the chance to score was prevented by a penalty and a place ment kick by gaston went wild in the last quarter the allentown boys showed another spurt and for a time it looked as if lehigh would be scored on on straight football the giant fullback stipp carried the ball to the lehigh 7-yard line but there the brown and white men held for downs with only an inch to go
