thirtieth annual production of mustard and cheese dra matic association make-me-laugh show was written by coach gheen and music by packard date set for april 4 pennsylvania state college will entertain all del egates dr wolle will direct choir in chapel on may 29th and 30th announcement has just been made that the ninth bach festival will be given by the bethlehem bach choir under the direction of dr j fred wolle at lehigh university on friday and saturday may 29 and 30 the rendition will take place in the chapel the program will include the mass in b minor the magnifi cat the motet sing ye to the lord a new-made song the bach choir which numbers more than two hundred singers has won international attention for its renditions of bach's works under the direction of dr wolle the fore most present-day student of bach mr walters attends convention in south competition is keen between the bowling teams representing the first six fraternities as arranged below the delta upsilon has a big lead but not so big that it cannot be taken away great enthusiasm has been worked up by this contest and the fraternities have been more closely associated than ever before there are several more games to be played the standing to march 5 is as follows : — delta upsilon 848 sigma nu 777 psi upsilon 733 thetaxi 722 beta theta pi 667 sigma phi epsilon . . 633 phi gamma delta . . . 622 theta delta chi 555 phi delta theta 500 kappa sigma 333 sigma phi 333 sigma chi 333 delta phi 238 delta tau delta 166 alpha tau omega . . 111 cornell wrestlers are favorites for intercollegiate championship defeated by navy ithaca win from pennsylvania columbia princeton and mcgill in the cornell meet which will be held at ithaca on saturday le high's wrestlers will meet a team that is already picked as favorite for the intercollegiate champion ship cornell during the present season has won from mcgill penn sylvania columbia and princeton against the navy team however the ithacans were able to gain or v one decision and one draw lehigh's team is in much better shape than last week although sev eral of them are still suffering from the infection that broke out several weeks ago thomas is still suffer ing from a wrenched shoulder and will not be able to wrestle sawtelle and mccarthy are again in shape and will be in the line-up the team will be composed as follows : i 115-pound class kirkhuff 125-pound class — martin 135-pound class — weber 145-pound class — woelfel 158-pound class — sawtelle 175-pound class — bailey heavy-weight class — mccarthy burr receives article from unknown writer civil society meets next week attention of all students and the faculty particularly those in the civil department is called to the march meeting of the civil engi neering society the principal ad dress on this occasion will be a talk on foundations by f j nolan a lehigh graduate who is an expert on the subject and who in his con nection with dravo brothers co of pittsburgh has had a wide ex perience t j priestley 15 will give a talk on bridge foundations the meeting will be held next wednesday evening march 11th the burr wishes to announce that they have michigan university of lowa university of vermont university of texas and others at the special session of technical colleges and at the evening session last tuesday mr walters was a speaker he was appointed by the convention as director of publicity on this trip mr walters visited the mckinley manual training fligh school the central high school the western high school in washington d c the john marshall high school in richmond and also the university of virginia at charlottesville seven men pledged to tau beta pi lehigh and lafayette faculties game with swarth more not settled at the time of the regular chapel exercises on wednesday morning march 4 the following members of the junior class were pledged to the honorary engineering fraternity of tau beta pi : hoffman brown leeple boyd wuchter read and raine ' the lehigh faculty club will be entertained next tuesday evening by the similar organization of la fayette college the joint meeting to be held in the new zeta psi fra ternity house on the campus at eas ton there will be a supper and a discussion sets sail for bermuda up to the time that this issue of the brown and white went to press no definite arrangement had been made for a basketball game with swarthmore it is however very probable that a game will be arranged for next wednesday further announcement will be made in tuesday's issue of this paper y m c a was written by packard 14 who is musical director of the asso ciation the chorus is being coach ed by mr downing who has had charge of several of the mustard and cheese productions the scene is laid on the isle of knotalaf the first act showing the rocky sea coast and the second the king's palace there are fourteen characters in the cast seven male and seven fe male there will be eighteen musi cal numbers and several dance spe cialties a dancing chorus of six teen and a glee chorus of eight will be one of the features the following men have been se lected by coach gheen for parts in the
