seniors will banquet thursday lehigh ties pennsylvania the federal reserve act elaborate arrangements have been made for banquet of graduating class great plans for the bach festival publicity parlors of the moravian seminary and college for women that the festival is again attract ing nation-wide attention was made evident in the report of the pub licity committee it was shown that the committee has sent three instalments of press material to three hundred and fifty publica tions including musical journals weekly magazines and newspapers in all sections of the country re turns show that this publicity ma terial has been very widely used so that the bethlehems the bach fes tival and lehigh university are be ing widely advertised this work will be kept up stead ily until the time of the festival ac cording to the report of the chair man of the committee ray wal ters another phase of the publicity work will be the preparation of a brief circular in such form as to be distributed in the mail of business men in this community the com mercial league and the industrial the annual banquet of the se nior class will be held in the eagle hotel at 8.30 p m march 19th 1914 this is the first of the four class banquets and it will probably be the most elaborate one the committee in charge has been working for some time and arrangements have been completed g p flick act embra ces a history of the development of currency and a description of the new bill on currency the federal reserve act beginning with primeval times mr wilbur described the tendency towards a medium of exchange and the measuring of the value of one article in terms of another tims in scotland at one time an ox was spoken of as equal in value to ten sheep and exchanges were made ac cording among the aztecs green stones formed a medium ; in the south sea islands bright colored feathers performed the same pur pose and in north america shells among the indians formed their currency later the value of precious met als was recognized and was almost universally adopted silver as used was about 40 to 50 of its bullion value while gold was much continued on second page the lehigh wrestling team met the univ of pennsylvania in the new taylor gymnasium on satur day night march 14th the result of the meet was a draw 16 to 16j4 which indicates a well-fought but evenly matched struggle four
