crippled championship swarthmore game left dunn and white on crippled list the annual lacrosse game with the carlisle indians will be played on taylor field on saturday may 9th the game promises to be the usual hard-fought struggle for su premacy with odds favoring le high comparison of past records while not a staple basis of argu ment seems to forecast another vic tory for the drown and white team conservative consideration of scores made by each team againsi the same opponent indicate the su periority of lehigh over the red skins the indians have played the na vy and swarthmore as has lehigh the navy game with the indian resulted in a tie score while swarth more succeeded in winning their in dian game with the score 2 to 1 lehigh's game with the navy was the opening game of the season and can not be referred to as a fair ex ample of ability the recent game with swarthmore and the resulting victoiw is a fitting example of what can be expected on saturday it is true that lehigh has one or two on the crippled list viz : dunn who has a broken arm and will be unable to play and white who sus tained injuries on the head which may keep him out of the game the probable line-up of the indians shows many old men of past ex perience and such conditions tend toward an exciting exhibition of real lacrosse in the first game of the inter class lacrosse series last wednes day afternoon on taylor field the senior lacrosse team defeated the sophomore team by a score of 9 to 0 the senior team was composed of six varsity men and the fact that the 1916 team was defeated by such a score can be overlooked lie cause as much was to be expected from half the varsity team the 1916 defense was unable to cope with the strong and consistent at tacks of their opponents and the 1914 team scored almost at will nor was the sophomore attack able to penetrate the sturdy defense of the seniors lladaway was the chief scorer for the seniors caging four goals jay came next with two
