emery of yale will give address in chapel on thursday evening and friday morning all students of the university as well as townspeople of the bet'hle hems are invited to attend an ad dress on scholarship and its limi tations to be given by professor henry c emery of yale univer sity in packer memorial church on thursday evening the address will be given under the auspices of phi beta kappa and tau beta pi and a dinner of these societies will follow in the commons professor emery is a member of the interstate commerce commis sion and has served as chairman of the united states tariff hoard lie has gained wide eminence also as author of economic works in cluding speculation on the stock and produce exchange of the uni ted states professor emery will deliver a lecture in the chapel lehigh 7 indians 2 lacrosse champions administer defeat to redskins in rough game many shots missed lehigh's attack controls game in second period leonard plays great game at goal lehigh's lacrosse champions con tinued their winning streak by de feating the carlisle indians on sat urday by the score of 7to 2 both teams played a great game in the first half but the second half was lehigh's from the start and the in dians had no chance whatever of increasing their score notwith standing the fact that the game was played on a dry field with condi tions ideal for lacrosse both sides played a ragged game particularly in the first period when the brown and white team was the chief of fender the red-skins could never ob tain the lead shortly after the game commenced lehigh scored the first goal when with the ball close to the cage captain hartde gen received the ball on a pass and with noone to check him shot a goal this lead was maintained for some time both teams bringing the ball in time and again only to lose it at once to the defense men howev er the indians again squared terms when wai ford managed to slip the ball in following an exciting scrim mage in front of the cage i lartde gen duplicated his stunt a few mo ments later when he scored the sec ond goal for lehigh on a pass from jay at once the redmen tied the score when skenandore drove a wicked one at leonard rlartde gen again came to the front with another point for his team by a clever piece of dodging directly in front of the goal and with several indians gathered around him he drove the hall in the net and the half ended score,lehigh 3 indi ans 2 during the second half the work of both teams improved decidedly although the play became decidedly rougher referee crowell being compelled several times during the period to put members of both teams out of the game although the ndians fought gamely to the end lehigh's reversal to the true championship form which she is capable of displaying when hard
