continued on fourth page college meeting the senior banquet committee has made a record for itself in making arrangements for the se nior banquet which will be held at the eagle hotel next tuesday night and if the arrangements are executed with the same care with which they were made the senior banquet will be an event that will last long in the memories of every 1913 classman at the banquet the guests of the senior class will be dr drinker vice-president emery profs eck feldt reiter and stewart coach keady and captains pazzetti bell and jay of the foot-ball base-ball and lacrosse teams respectively charles l taylor and charles m schwab were invited to be present but previous engagements prevent ed them from accepting the invita tions as menu cards the committee has decided to give good-sized bill folds which a member of the com mittee stated when interviewed last night are not toys but are articles which will be useful to the present seniors when they are out getting their bumps next year in the way on entertainment the university orchestra will furnish the music the cabaret quartette of which much talk has been heard lately will give some of its best renditions and bunny ackerley's trio of musical artists has guaranteed to keep any idle moments from occur ring to hear the toasts will be worth the price of admission muthart is going to cut loose with some of his pet theories on the faculty lamb's ladies will be as bizarre as they are original tommy bry ant has a long line of b s that he wants to get rid of gus hor casitas will relate how they have revolutions to order in mexico and last but not least doc wylie has promised to tell what he thinks of lehigh the committee in charge of the arrangements consists of : — clarke fahl gerhard hill jamieson le van and campbell chairman y m c a the base-ball practice last wed nesday was held out of doors and a very good-sized squad of men re ported there being thirty-six in all they seem to have gotten their eyes on the ball and are making rapid strides for so early in the season the pitching staff was given some light exercise and several of the new men look very promising besides the old men several of the new men showed base-ball abil ity in wednesday's practice bell this year's captain and w r right who proved his worth at lafayette last year were on the field and helped in the exercising of the pitching staff chenoweth is showing up remark ably well as an infielder and will undoubtedly make the infield ex ceptionally strong if any predictions may be made from the material that is now on the richmond college in door games in richmond va to morrow night the team compos ed of burke 16 carlson 16 gor man 13 and wylie 16 will leave here at 4.35 o'clock this afternoon will spend the night in philadelphia and will arrive in richmond at 3 o'clock to-morrow afternoon washington and lee college has one of the strongest teams in the south barring georgetown and the race between the southerners and the brown and white team will be a question of inches washington and lee defeated johns hopkins university and the carlisle indians last saturday night in washington the time being 3 minutes 50 4-5 seconds lehigh's time on the same track the same night was 3 minutes 50 seconds tau beta pi civil meet the subject of the y m c a meeting next sunday is to be work among the town boys and will be covered in a series of three-min ute talks by the following students who have been doing work in the bethlehem s along the line of the big brother movement messrs whiteside finn fahl fry will iams spencer sterner graham frey and schuttler there will be a special solo by master hagenbuch of the nativity choir the march meeting of the civil engineering society will be held at the residence of dr and mrs drinker next wednesday march 12th at a short meeting of the four classes held at noon wednesday in packer hall presidents rooney flick royall and scruggs of the senior junior sophomore and freshman classes respectively and messrs campbell hill and wylie of the senior class were appoint ed a re-organization committee to thoroughly investigate the causes of the resignation of the arcadia and to report their findings to the stu dent-body at a later date at the chapel exercises on mon day morning march 10th at 7.45 o'clock the honorary engineering fraternity of tau beta pi will pledge a number of members of the class of 1914 to the society the brown and white lehigh university bethlehem pa friday march 7 1913 baseball squad works outside no 3 large lacrosse squad practices arts and science club meeting vol xx well prepared papers read by kocher 13 and sauber 14 places on the team thirty-six men to compete for fine banquet for seniors everything of the best promised by committee ticed goal-shooting and the practice ended late in the afternoon with the return of dunn to the squad and with the outlook of much promising material the coming sea son presents a very bright aspect relay team a meeting of the arts and sci ence society was held in saucon hall on tuesday evening a let ter from dr r m wetherill was read inviting the society to hold its april meeting at leonard hall
