on sunday evening prof francis 11 green of west chester normal school spoke at the as sociation meeting and as usual gave a talk full of interesting and helpful points he said god asks three great requirements of us : to do justly love mercy and walk humbly before our god or in other word to have integrity benignity and humility the two last being included in the first — integrity coming from integer meaning wholeness of life he spoke of the spirit of mercy shown by truly great men mentioning especially charles dickens helping i a ; n ld blind man in a snow storm and prof child of harvard who when he was an old man went to great pains to bring a little child a glass of milk the next requirement humility is an essential one we must have that spirit in dealing with other men for he is not in a hopeful con dition who does not realize how little he really knows the mes sage we get from a truth depends on the point from which we see it so we must not be too sure that our conception of it is the only one we must have humility towards god who is not only our father but king of kings and our prayers to him must be humble if we ex pect answers to them unless we are showing spirit of mercy and humility we are not living up to the requirements and it is only through christ that we can obtain this spirit integrity — meaning wholeness of life cannot be attained unless our lives are full of activity which according to st james is the essence of religion jonathan edwards seventy resolu tions for the of his life were all summed up in this : re solved to live with all my life while
